The Vision

When we get it right, creative expression flows freely to enrich and realign society, sourced from deep, curious and satisfying exploration.

In a time of uncertainty and disconnection, too many of us feel isolated, creatively blocked, and imbalanced.

We need rituals of contemplative togetherness to focus our attention and keep us accountable to our priorities. We need to cultivate a culture of creative devotion.

The Format

Guided meditation, gentle movement, and breath-work are the runway to perspective and vitality. Each gathering will start with around 3o minutes to stretch center, sit and unite the body, mind and spirit.

1 | Center

After warming up, we’ll dive into our own individual creative practices of journaling, sketching, composing, etc. and experience the powerful productivity of solitude in good company. We’ll allow for 45 minutes of creative co-working.

2 | Co-Work

Optional sharing is a chance to try it out, express and be heard, make connections, get inspired, and practice letting go. Community guidelines will be shared in an effort to create space that is safe enough for sharing. We’ll extend 15 minutes for optional sharing and chitchat before we say goodbye and see you again next week.

3 | Share & Connect

A note from the creator of Sacred Studio

Dear Creatives,,

In this time of political, ecological, and digital exhaustion, I feel inspired to hold space for the replenishment of creativity—for joy, contemplation, imagination, movement, and close attention to materials we can hold in our hands.

This offer is for artists and creative entrepreneurs of all kinds—writers, performers, visual artists, musicians, crafters, dancers, wanna-be artists, once-were-artists, and anyone else who wants to be productive in the presence of creative community.

India

"I appreciate how the space offers grounding and centering as a way into creative practice and focusing on what I need and want to get done."

"What a gift to spend time amid light, hope, strength, and love."

"I’ve been looking for this type of structure and connection around what can be solitary work."

"Feeling a community's energy and time to focus on me, with work woven in, is a magical offering."

"I recommend Sacred Studio highly to anyone needing a gentle nudge to take their creative projects more seriously. I love India's expert facilitation and meditation. It helps me remember why I do what I do and feel safe to engage in projects that I've put on the back burner."

Leila Simon Hayes

“I’m so grateful to be a part of sacred studios! As a working artist and educator, and someone who is self employed, it’s such a valuable container in which to drop into my body and creative practice, whether that looks like painting, quilting, or cleaning off my desk, while being in connection with others. India's meditations always seem to speak to what’s happening in the moment and are a wonderful runway into practice. For the past couple months in sacred studios, I’ve been working on this baby quilt, piecing together the top with naturally dyed fabrics, and imagining it wrapping a dear one who will soon be earthside. My quilt-making is intuitive and is deeply fed by the kind of presence and attention that sacred studios is so great at cultivating. I cannot speak highly enough of what sacred studios has given me in these past few months and would recommend to anyone seeking structure for their creative practice.”
