The Wayfinder Deep Seeing Training is for therapists, coaches, and art educators who wish to expand their toolkit in supporting clients and students.

Wayfinder Deep Seeing  is an art-based mindfulness method that helps participants gain insight and perspective on personal questions, life decisions, and areas of challenge.

Especially helpful during life’s milestone moments or when clients feel lost or stuck in a rut, this guided method of self-discovery allows participants to access inner wisdom, gain clarity and agency, and reduce stress.

Past participants have used the Wayfinder Deep Seeing process to help choose a college major; navigate career changes; prepare for pregnancy, surgery and childbirth; break through writers block; reconnect with lost loved ones; incubate business ideas; clarify intentions on relationships and home location; connect with colleagues and family members; and simply enjoy contemplative aesthetic experience.

The Wayfinder Deep Seeing® Training is in the works!

  • Wayfinder uses a projective method of coming into a mindful state with a piece of art so you are able to see yourself and your circumstances. It was like a meditation on steroids. It brought to light things in me I didn’t know were happening and got me on my way to taking care of them.”

    — Natalie Foster, Clinical Art Therapist

  • "A safe space where these external artworks are able to shine light on our own inner wisdom and experience."

    — Steven Hosking, Expressive Arts Therapist

  • "If you’re feeling stuck in any way, (Deep Seeing is) helpful to either get unstuck or to understand more the nature of your stuckness. "

—Rebecca Bateman, Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW, PsyA

  • “I would describe the process as guided self-exploration. You’re in conversation with the art, in a reflective space, connected to your body, and using (the practitioner's) guidance along with a piece of artwork in order to discover something about yourself.”

—Rebecca Bateman, Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW, PsyA

  • “It’s gentle, yet it makes you aware of your projections, so you get to see what’s in you. Your projections are operating at all times, and if you can have a clear sense of the lens you’re viewing the world through, you can have **a lot** **more perspective, agency, and ability to use your creative power**.”

—Rebecca Bateman, Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW, PsyA
